Wyoming Unit 100 Antelope Description

The area is comprised primarily of sagebrush flats, low broken hills and plains. There are also juniper, aspen and serviceberry covered hills and ridges.  There are very few antelope in those habitats, but pronghorn are common in sagebrush dominated habitats interspersed within these areas. There are limited private irrigated lands within this area.

Antelope density and overall numbers in this hunt area are lower than most areas in Wyoming.  This is done intentionally through management to reduce browse competition with Wyoming Range mule deer.  Thousands of Wyoming Range mule deer migrate into this area to winter on shrub habitats. There is ample suitable antelope habitat in this area but low densities of animals.  Hunters are encouraged to consider hunting later in the season to better distribute hunting pressure. Antelope are more common in the low flats in the hunt area. Most roads in this hunt area become nearly impassable when wet and muddy.
